Open Conference ATTER 2025

Agroecological transitions of Territorial Food Systems

The ATTER international research-action network is pleased to invite you to its second open conference on the theme of the agroecological transition of territorial food systems.
Whether you are a researcher, a citizen, a representative of civil society, an actor in public policy or in the agricultural and food sector, this is a rare opportunity to share your analyses, visions and points of view with a wide variety of speakers from different countries and to discover a diversity of initiatives, networks and innovative public policies rooted in very different national and regional contexts.

The various speakers from the ATTER network (INRAE, FIAN, Cardiff University, Coventry University, University of Vermont, CIHEAM, Terralim, Urgenci international network, Parc Régional des Monts d'Ardèche, etc.) will share an assessment of the cross-cutting analyses and comparative perspectives elaborated out of the 16 rural and urban case studies carried out in the various countries (France, Italy, United Kingdom, Brazil and the United States), and will open the debate on the issues we need to tackle collectively. The day will also provide an opportunity to discuss the future of the network.

The day will be organised into 4 parts:

  • A three-part opening round table - with three leading figures from research (Cécile Détang-Dessendre, Deputy Director of INRAE), civil society (Maria Suarez-Franco, Secretary General of FIAN International) and public action (Eric Andrieu, former Member of the European Parliament 2012-2023 and former member of the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development)
  • An introduction to ATTER's conceptual perspectives and methodological approaches (by ATTER members)
  • A presentation and demonstration of ATTER's territorial observatory and the network's various products
  • A participatory sequence on food democracy where we will discuss in groups three key topics: the role of civil society in transitions, the construction of inclusive arenas for debate, and examples of innovative public policies.

To extend and strengthen your network, create new collaborations, share your visions and points of view with inspiring personalities, discuss analytical tools and innovative participatory approaches to territorial food transitions, register for the final Open Conference of the ATTER project!
